While we can choose various courses of protection, for instance advoiding noon time sun, animals, plants and our pets are not so fortunate. UV Radiation levels are the highest during the middle of the day, in total almost half the day time total UV radiation is received during the hours of 10am and 2pm. Clouds as well as ozone, have a tremendous effect on UV radiation levels, However cloudy skies generally do not offer significant protection from the harmful UV rays. Dangerous UV rays are invisible and can attack the skin of young children and pets in just 10 minutes in high exposure times. UV rays can easily create a deadly sun cancer spot. JKE SHADE can offer Shade Sail fabrics and only recommend the highest UV blockout of up to 99% with a shade rating of 97% with a limited 10 year guarantee against any deterioration in UV. The higher the UPF rating of any quality shade cloth will result in longer protection against UV radiation. Any quality shade cloth with a UPF rating of 15 will allow just one fifteenth of the UV radiation to penetrate through it, as a UPF rating of 20 for example will only allow just one twentieth of the UV radiation to penetrate through the cloth weave.
